Where exactly you are

An inn in the middle of Háj. A meadow behind the house, Klínovec across the valley.

Háj is a mountain hamlet at 930 m just above Loučná. Since 2019 it has been part of the UNESCO Ore Mountain Mining Region. From the windows of the inn you can see Klínovec with its lookout tower — and that is exactly where the ski bus takes you in the morning. It is included for staying guests.

Everything that matters is measured from the terrace.

We are not a wellness resort and we do not pretend to be one. We are a mountain inn with rooms above the restaurant — and the things worth coming for are within reach.

The restaurant is open every day from 11 to 21. Breakfast, half board or full board; a wood stove in winter, a grill on the terrace in summer. We pour Pilsner Urquell and Ferdinand.

A large plot with mature trees, a playground, swings, a trampoline, a volleyball court, outdoor table tennis and a fire pit. Dogs are welcome.

Klínovec ski resort starts 800 m away, the ski bus stops right in front of the inn and is included for staying guests. The lifts run from December to April and we sell ski passes at reception. Skis in the morning, soup by the fire in the evening.

A pedestrian border crossing leads from Loučná to Oberwiesenthal — the highest town in Germany, with a narrow-gauge steam railway, a cable car up Fichtelberg and a toboggan run.

Honestly: we are a mountain inn, not a wellness hotel. You pay less than at the resorts on Klínovec, and you will notice the difference mostly at the table.

Garden and kids

The meadow starts behind the house. The playground is in front of it.

The inn stands on a large plot with mature trees. Kids get a climbing frame, swings and a trampoline; adults get volleyball, table tennis and a fire pit in the evening. Parents see the playground from the terrace.

A circle around the terrace.

The inn in the middle, everything you can set out for around it. The inner ring is one kilometre, the outer one forty — you will not need more for a day trip.
